Nervous System & Trauma-Informed Parent Coaching

Children with a history of trauma or neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism) frequently live in a state of constant autonomic nervous system dysregulation. Because these children rarely feel safe, balanced, or at rest, they may often appear anxious, reactive, frozen, shut down, or dissociated. In this heightened state, children cannot easily learn, connect, or manage their behavior.

Drawing from extensive experience in the child welfare system, specialized training as a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) Practitioner, and certification in the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP®) and Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP®), I provide targeted education and practical tools to support families navigating these profound challenges.

What This Is Not

This service does not provide direct trauma therapy for children. While
families may benefit from complementary services like play therapy or family counseling, this
practice focuses strictly on parent coaching and nervous system regulation protocols.
Recommendations for additional therapeutic services are readily available when needed.

What This Is

Parents receive comprehensive guidance through professional assessments and
targeted protocols designed to restore nervous system balance:

  • Protocol Customization: Administration of the Safe and Sound Protocol, the Rest and
Restore Protocol, or a personalized combination based on your child’s unique needs.
  • Parent Coaching: Strategic guidance on effective co-regulation, neuroscience education,
    and practical daily regulation tools.
  • Connection-Focused Strategies: Actionable parenting frameworks designed to promote
felt safety, reduce behavioral reactivity, and strengthen family connection.
